I am organizing a special session (or sessions) on the opioid/drug crisis at the Southern Regional Science Association Conference, to be held in Philadelphia from March 15-17, 2018. The goals are to help those working on this topic to engage with each other, but also to inform others in the hope of spurring additional interest in pursuing research. Thus, papers and presentations ranging from mostly descriptive research to high-level statistical analysis are welcome, and at any geographic level that may shed light on local, state, or some larger regional aspect of the crisis.
