The North American Regional Science Council is pleased to announce Michael Lahr as recipient of the 2014 David Boyce Award for his many contributions to Regional Science.  The award is given annually to a prominent member of the association who has played an essential role through service contributions to regional science organizations. Michael is Research Professor of Planning and Public Policy in the Center for Urban Policy Research at the Edward Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University and Visiting Research Fellow, the Institute for International Economics, Business, & Management, University of Groningen.  Mike has the special distinction of having obtained his Ph.D. in Regional Science at the University of Pennsylvania. He has been an indispensable and indefatigable editor of regional science publications, notably as the current co-editor of The Review of Regional Studies.  Mike also serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Regional Science and Papers in Regional Science.  In addition, he served as the President of the Southern Regional Science Association.  Among his many important service contributions to regional, Mike organized two highly successful North American Meetings of the Regional Science Association International in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Brooklyn, New York.
