The Department of Economics seeks applications to fill one tenure-track position at its campus in Aguascalientes starting August 2017. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in economics or agricultural and resource economics from an accredited institution by August 2017. Candidates are expected to provide evidence of potential to develop an outstanding record of scholarly research in Environmental Economics. Having the capacity to teach econometrics at the Master level is a plus.
The Department, with its two campuses, is the leading Mexican research institution in applied economics. A Master of Science in Environmental Economics started in Fall 2014. The campus Region Centro, where the position is based, offers excellent collaborative opportunities in research with colleagues in the other CIDE departments. Candidates are expected to provide quality teaching at the undergraduate and Master levels. Expected teaching load is two courses per year.
Knowledge of Spanish is not required, but we expect successful applicants to be able to teach in Spanish within two years following the appointment.
Candidates should include in their cover letter a brief statement of why they are interested in joining the faculty at CIDE. Candidates that do not include this statement will not be considered.
