The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is seeking an Associate Economist in the Regional Research Department. The Associate Regional Economist position requires extensive knowledge of relevant regional economic data, along with analysis of economic conditions and developments across the Fifth District. The position requires a firm grasp of basic economic theory, as well as demonstrated ability to analyze economic information and to write clearly, concisely, and under tight deadlines. The primary responsibilities include: Analyzing regional economic trends to develop content and write articles for the Bank’s publications and the public website; managing and producing Snapshot, which is a monthly compilation of data and summary of economic conditions across the Fifth District; and researching current and emerging trends and providing in-depth analysis of current economic conditions affecting the Fifth District.
Bachelor’s degree and master degree in economics or related field. One to two years of experience writing about economics issues for a lay audience.
